Easing the Pain of brace sores

What should I do to help ease the pain of brace sores and to help them heal?

Try massaging a small amount of bonjela gel onto the sore area. It starts to numb the pain quickly because it contains a local analgesic (pain reliever) and anti-inflammatory agent to reduce any swelling. It also contains an anti-bacterial ingredient which helps fight infection.

Because of this triple mode of action, bonjela gel has been tried and trusted by thousands of brace wearers to help relieve the pain and heal the sores caused by orthodontic devices. In fact, in trials:

  • Over three-quarters of brace-wearers reported complete pain relief within 8 hours
  • 84% of brace sores treated with bonjela gel healed within 7 days.1

1. Study investigated pain relief and healing properties of bonjela in the treatment of sores due to ill-fitting braces in children: Tandon, P et al (1993), Stomatol India
